" This session, which brought together numerous elected officials, government departments and technical partners, enabled the unanimous validation of the draft application file ," explains the SMGSE in a press release sent to Var-matin. This is a decisive step towards the recognition of the Estérel massif as a "Grand Site de France". In her speech, the Deputy Prefect praised the seriousness and quality of the work carried out by the team of the Syndicat Mixte du Grand Site de l'Estérel, under the direction of Guillaume Jublot. She highlighted the clarity and rigor brought to the preparation of the documents, particularly in the presentation of the progress of the 42 actions of the 2022–2025 program and in the design of the future 2026–2033 program. She recalled that this requirement for precision and readability was essential to demonstrate to the ministry the effective progress of the process ."
The file will soon be examined"The next step will be to submit the finalized file to the Ministry of Ecological Transition, for review by the relevant national authorities," the SMGSE added.
As a reminder, the "Grand site de France" label is awarded by the Ministry of Ecological Transition to public bodies responsible for the proper conservation and development of natural sites that are highly renowned and receive very high levels of visitor numbers.
The Esterel massif project is based in particular on the principle of promoting "sustainable and respectful" tourism.
